Learning Lab: Should I Stay or Go – ED Clinical Pathways Guiding the Way

Participants will understand the importance of clinical pathways as safety nets to ensure optimal care is provided to all patients. Presenters will share details of how to build an integrated, team-based approach to care that focuses on the patient versus working in silos. A discussion of how this approach was successfully implemented in both large tertiary facilities and small rural facilities will also be included.

- Understand BayCare’s approach to designing and implementing clinical pathways
- Discuss the primary components for developing and implementing an emergency department (ED) pathway program
- Review the factors that contribute to the success of ED pathway implementation throughout a healthcare system
- Understand the emergency department’s role in inpatient pathways
