Randy Harmatz-Matott
Randy Harmatz, MBA, CPHQ, is a healthcare leader with decades of experience leading culture change to improve clinical outcomes and operational performance.
She currently serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Quality Officer at Nicklaus Children’s Health System in Miami, Florida, overseeing Quality Improvement, Patient Safety, Clinical Risk Management, Management Engineering, and Infection Prevention.
Prior to joining Nicklaus Children’s, Randy was Vice President for System Quality and Patient Safety at Ochsner Health, with systemwide oversight of acute care and service line quality. During her tenure, she reorganized the quality structure, launched a project‑management function for quality, and established a clinical risk management division.
Earlier, Randy served as the inaugural Chief Quality Officer and Senior Vice President at University of Florida Health in Gainesville, where she revamped the department’s strategic plan; launched a clinical risk management program that reduced serious safety events by 80%; created an Office of Patient Experience that included patient and family advisors; and developed a quality and patient safety council for medical school residents. Randy also served as Vice President of Quality at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.
She holds an MBA from Baruch College in New York City and a bachelor’s degree from Boston University.
