Crossing the Quality Chasm of a Foot Bridge Built with Compliance

Twenty-five years after the IOM laid out the framework for Crossing the Quality Chasm, healthcare organizations continue to struggle to redesign systems with existing resources. For many, part of this struggle is that compliance and quality remain parallel functions rather than one integrated system. This 60 minute session will demonstrate how an effective compliance program, when intentionally designed with quality as a goal, can provide the foundation for the journey to high-reliability quality performance. Through case-based examples, the session will illustrate how organizations can design compliance program elements into its enterprise to strengthen patient safety culture and improve survey readiness.
