NAHQ Micro-Credentials: Health Data Analytics
NAHQ’s Micro-Credential program in Health Data Analytics contains two, focused educational courses and a related assessment. In the first course you will learn how to collect, consolidate, validate, and organize data from multiple sources to achieve strategic outcomes. In the second course, you will add critical data visualization tools and techniques to your quality toolbox, integrate analysis with visual storytelling, leverage your technical and creative aptitude, use data to inform prioritization processes, and ultimately improve outcomes and drive better decision making from the top down. Each course features a combination of video instruction from healthcare quality experts, interactive eLearning, text, downloadable resources, case studies, and knowledge checks.
Learning Objectives:
After completing this Micro-Credential program in Health Data Analytics, you will be able to:
- Apply procedures for governance of data assets.
- Design data collection plans for key metrics and performance indicators.
- Acquire data from source systems.
- Integrate data from internal and external electronic data systems.
- Maintain data using standardized practices of data collection, storage, and analysis.
- Explain why data visualization is important for improving healthcare quality and patient outcomes.
- Distinguish between categorical and numerical data types commonly encountered in healthcare quality datasets.
- Choose the most suitable data visualization techniques based on the nature of the healthcare quality data being analyzed.
- Construct clear and informative bar charts, frequency tables, pie charts, histograms, box plots, heat maps, scatter plots, etc. to represent healthcare quality data accurately.
- Design interactive dashboards for real-time monitoring and reporting of healthcare quality metrics.
- Effectively communicate insights derived from data visualizations to healthcare stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making and quality improvement efforts.
